As a ceramic artist, I aspire to make functional pieces that evoke a response.
What speaks to you? A fanciful mug with hand warming comfort, the old, wandering vine-covered surface of a jar, or the freedom of a hakeme vase with dancing brush strokes?
I am inspired by the wonders of the natural world around me; the colors, shapes, textures, and movement of all kinds. My hope is to bring this alive in my pieces so they make a personal connection, raising the ordinary function of a mug, plate, vase, etc., to something that calls you to use it.
